The Florida Gulf Coast University  Chapter of Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society

Phi Eta Sigma

Phi Eta Sigma is the oldest and largest national honor society that encourages and rewards academic excellence achieved during the first year in college. The society was founded on March 22, 1923, at the University of Illinois. The Florida Gulf Coast University chapter was established in 1999.

About Us

The FGCU Chapter of Phi Eta Sigma was chartered in 1999 to recognize exceptional first-year students for personal academic achievement. Students who earn a 3.5 GPA at the end of their first semester are invited to be inducted into our chapter. This membership identifies students to future graduate and professional schools as well as future employers.

Our Work

Students' life-long membership in the FGCU Chapter of Phi Eta Sigma grants them exciting opportunities for philanthropic and social activities on an off campus as well as interaction with other Phi Eta Sigma scholars.  In addition, our students are eligible to apply for national and chapter scholarships awarded only to Phi Eta  Sigma members.
